Following a period as Board Member Finance London Transport he became Group Finance Director then Group Chief Executive for the Littlewoods Group ( Home Shopping , Retail and Football Pools ) then the largest private company in Europe .
In addition he has served on a number of Plc Boards , including Greenalls ( Pubs , Hotels and Leisure ) , Ellis and Everard ( Chemical Distribution ) , Triplex Lloyd ( Engineering ) , Creightons ( Personal Care ) and a number of smaller private companies . He is an active investor in business start-ups , notably in the Health Sector .
